The world that you and I live in is filled with turmoil-wars, rumors of wars, hatred, prejudice, strife, terrorism, blatant immorality, famine, pollution, disease and injustice. The list is endless! How much longer can we go on this way? How many more hurricanes can we endure? How many more fuel hikes can we sustain? When will the next terrorist attack take place? What if several of these major catastrophes hit simultaneously? Could we as a NATION survive? Your Bible says we can't!
Now wait before you stop reading. If you dare to look up the scriptures included in this text I can prove what I say. Notice Matthew 24:21-22. "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. (22) And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved..." These days must be shortened or else we will destroy ourselves. But who will shorten them? Who possesses this power? Will the U.N. miraculously solve man's problems? Will Science? Will we miraculously undertake a "Spiritual Revival" and change our human nature?
"Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." (Matthew 24:29-31). Who does it say is coming? The Son of Man -- Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Will he be received with open arms? Will the earth rejoice to see His miraculous intervention on our behalf? Let's let the apostle John explain. (Rev. 19:11-19). "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man new, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called the Word of God. (Jesus Christ was the logos, the Word.) And the armies which were in heaven (angels) followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel standing in the sun and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, come and gather ourselves together unto the supper of the Great God;' That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army."
Can you believe it? When the Savior of mankind intervenes to save mankind from destroying himself, the governments of this earth will actually turn to fight him. How is this possible? It is possible because Satan the Devil who has deceived this whole world (Rev. 12:9) will have deceived them. Notice Revelation 16:13-14. "And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, (actually demons as there is ONLY ONE DEVIL), working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God almighty." Here we see an unholy triumvirate-the Devil, the beast, and the false prophet. Satan the Devil will have deceived the beast leader into believing a lie. He will be the head of a great conglomerate of nations who will emerge in the Last Days as a superpower. This superpower will yield to the influence of the false prophet, a much beloved, powerful, religious leader, and do his bidding. Religious fervor will run rampant and those who do not adhere to the "mark" of this beast and worship its image will be put to death.
The nations of this world will be devastated by the cataclysmic events that have taken place and will be struggling for survival. All nations will be vying for the dwindling oil supplies and be willing to go to war to obtain their share. It is an unprecedented time of trouble. Daniel describes it this way, ".and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book." (Daniel 12:1).
Does anyone know when this invasion will take place? Mark wrote, "But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father" (Mark 13:32). No human knows exactly when the predicted invasion will occur. Only the great Master-Mind of the universe- God the Father-knows. The one thing we can all be sure of, if he doesn't come back all hope for mankind is lost. It doesn’t matter whether we believe it or not, it will happen! The Bible says so.
