Let me begin by asking the question: Do you know what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about?& Are you sure? Don’t be too quick to give an answer to this question, because millions of sincere and knowledgeable Christians think they have the correct understanding on this issue. But, could they be deceived? Could you be deceived? If you believe the Words of our own Bible, you probably could be! Notice what it says in Revelation 12:9: “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceived the wholeworld; he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (There is the account of this “casting out” in Isaiah the 14th chapter and Ezekiel the 28 th chapter, but that is another subject.) So all of mankind has been deluded, at some time in their life, by this wily and subtle Satan. I have been deceived! You have been deceived! Everyone has been deceived. That deception has been universal, including a true perception of whatthe Gospel of Jesus Christ is about.
So in this article, I want to explain to you just what the True Gospel really is. It’s the same Good News (that is the real meaning of the word “Gospel”, God’s News or Good News, as many of you are aware) that Jesus Christ preached. It is called the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. Now some of you readers may say to yourself: “Well, I certainly know what the Gospel is all about! I’ve heard about Jesus Christ and Christianity all of my life. There are various churches scattered over this land and in many foreign countries, with tens of thousands of “preachers” telling us how to be “good”, how to be “saved” and “go to heaven” or some other kind of reward! Are you trying to insult my intelligence by inferring that I don’t know what the Christian gospel is about?!” I have no such intention to either alienate or anger you about his subject at all, but my desire is to help you see the plain truth of the matter. First of all, I too, realize there are several hundred “Christian denominations” that espouse various ideas and doctrines, and they all claim to be followers and representatives of Jesus Christ. But herein lies one of the greatest dangers that confront humanity today, because this is precisely what Christ warns us of!
Let’s go to God’s Word to get the proof of my statement. Open your own Bible to the words of Christ—don’t ever take my word for anything I say or write, but believe what you read in your Bible. This is our challenge to everyone reading our literature or listening to the television broadcasts by our presenter. Turn now to the oft quoted “Olivet prophecy”, Matthew 24:3. “And as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world? (Gr. “aion” or “age”). And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in My Name and shall deceive many.” Notice, He said the many—the majority—would come preaching Christ (saying He is the Christ, not that they, themselves, are Christ), and deceive many (again the vast majority).
But again, let’s return to our subject matter of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. As I said earlier, the word “gospel” merely means (from Webster’s New American Dictionary) “good tidings; something accepted as true; the Gospels, the story of Christ’s life and ministry as told in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.” In other words, “Good news”. This is partially correct. It does include events of Christ’s life and about His Personage. But this is not the message that Jesus Christ preached. Why haven’t you heard this before?! Read with your own eyes the message—the Gospel that He taught: Mark 1:14 “Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God. And saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye and believe the gospel.’” Note! That, as part of that Gospel, we are to believe the Gospel—a specific Message or Gospel—not just any Gospel.
The Apostle Paul was inspired to write a warning to the early New Testament Church of Galatia about another Gospel—a false Gospel—that had sprung up among true believers, as early as 49 A.D. Galatians 1:6-12: “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
And I might say with Paul that only true Christians, imbued with the Holy Spirit of God, have had this Gospel revealed to them. The rest of the world, in general, have been blinded and deceived by a false gospel. As we saw there in Galatians, a false “Christianity” was showing rapid growth and ultimately was to become a great universal church. Its goal was to suppress the true Gospel and replace it with “another”, which this world has blindly followed. And just who is this instigator of this blindness, this deception?!! We read the answer at the beginning of this article. It is Satan the Devil! (And even that is allowed by Almighty God, in His great plan of salvation for mankind, but as the saying is, “that’s another story”, or another article.)
Yes, this deception includes me; it involves you; everyone has been deceived by this diabolical being at some time in their lifetime! Only those who have had the scales of blindness removed from their eyes, by a merciful and loving God, have been able to discern or see the truth of what I’ve been showing you here in this article. In fact, I believe we ought to read a Scripture that proves this very point. Turn with me to Matthew 13:10-17. “And coming near, the disciples said to Him, Why do You speak to them in parables? And answering, He said to them, Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven, but it has not been given to those. For whoever has, to him will be given, and he will have overabundance. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. Because of this, I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. And the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled on them, which says, "In hearing you will hear and in no way understand, and seeing you will see yet in no way perceive.” For the heart of this people has grown fat, and they heard heavily with the ears, and they have closed their eyes, that they not see with the eyes, or hear with the ears, and understand with the heart, and be converted, and I heal them." But your eyes are blessed because they see; and your ears because they hear. For truly I tell you that many prophets and righteous ones desired to see what you see and did not see, and to hear what you hear and did not hear.” So, it requires Spiritual eyes and ears to fully comprehend Spiritual things!
I Corinthians 2:9-11; 14; 16: “But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit (human) of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God…but the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned…for who hath known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.”
Yes, you too can have the very mind of Christ, IF you are willing to repent and believe the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, as we read there in Mark 1:14,15. You are reading that Gospel with your eyes today!! Again, I am not trying to frighten you nor trying to convince you against your will, but God’s Truth is precious and there may not be a lot of time left where you will be able to receive these messages from His Word. Notice what lies ahead for an already deceived world! Amos 8:11-12: “Behold the days come, saith the LORD God, that I will send a famine in the land. Not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD: and they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.”
Oh yes, I know you are saying in your minds: “Why, how is that possible, with all these thousands and thousands of churches dotting our land and preaching from God’s Word?” Again, don’t forget the warning words of Jesus Christ that we read in Matthew 24:4-5: “…take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in My name, saying I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” Also in II Corinthians 11:14-15: “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”
Not too far away,
in the years just ahead, (this person may already be on the scene) a very charismatic, religious leader will begin to assert his authority and ideologies on the world. And the indication is that he will succeed in great deception of God’s Truth by means of fantastic, but false, Satanic miracles. This man will be preaching a false gospel!! He will actually proclaim himself to be God, and therefore say that he has the authority to bring about the Kingdom of God! We can read about this mass deceiver in II Thessalonians 2:2-4: “That you be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.”
This false system, (actually a continuation of the ancient Babylonian mystery religion) was already beginning to resist and change the true religion of Jesus Christ which hinges upon the true gospel of the Kingdom of God. The person who was opposing the small fledgling Church of God was none other than one Simon the sorcerer, who was rejected by Simon Peter in the 8th chapter of the Book of Acts. He is also known as Simon Magus or Simon the Magician in historical references. (He eventually adopted (stole) the name of Simon Peter and claimed that he was the first Pope in Rome. But that is another subject or study and not my purpose in this article). This system of Pagan worship goes all the way back to the Tower of Babel and the rule of Nimrod. And even though God came down and stopped that evil plan, that was in rebellion against Him, by confounding their languages, man still persists in trying to establish or set up the Kingdom of God on his own, on this earth! This is the very same system that we are admonished, as Christians, to “come out of”. Revelation 18:2-4: “And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, (demons) and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, come out of her my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
I realize that I have digressed somewhat in our discussion, “The Gospel of the Kingdom of God”, but I felt it was important to identify the source (Satan the devil) and the false religious system, claiming to be or masquerading as the true Christian Church and by it’s deceptive lies, has absolutely confused people as to what the Gospel of the Kingdom really is.
First of all, the Church is not the Kingdom of God! Neither will all Christian church organizations “somehow join together to form the Kingdom of God”, as some have promulgated. The Gospel of the Kingdom of God is tied directly to the Kingdom of God.
The Kingdom of God is a literal world ruling government that will supersede and take over all present existing governments of this world! I can’t emphasize this strongly enough! This is that Good News! I’m talking of all governments and national ideologies that are extant at the return of Jesus Christ! So that is what the Gospel is all about. It’s described many times in the Bible. Again, I ask the question: Why haven’t you heard this before in most professing “Christian” churches!! They have the same Christian Bible for their beliefs, don’t they?
This Good News is absolutely the best news human ears could ever hear!! Why? Because here is what is going to take place in a very few short years ahead: We don’t and can’t set exact dates, but with the help and inspiration of God’s Holy spirit, we can discern the times we are living in and know that we are living in the “latter days”, as God calls them. (Of course it involves the Person of Jesus Christ, because He is the very center of God’s plan of salvation for mankind. Without Him, you have nothing! It tells us in Acts 4:10-12: “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, Whom God raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand before you whole. This is the Stone which was set at naught of you builders, which is become the Head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other Name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”)
We’ll look at other Scriptures to get the real answers as to what is “The Gospel of the Kingdom of God”. The book of Revelation has much to say about this subject. Believe what we read, in plain language, what happens at the second coming of Jesus Christ. Revelation 11:15: “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign forever and ever.” And of course, that reign, that rulership will be on this earth! We’re going to read several references in this book that prove this very fact, along with other Scriptures stating the same thing. Why can’t human beings simply believe the plain truth about what the Bible teaches? Again, because that invisible, yet powerful, evil spirit being, Satan has so thoroughly deceived them, they cannot accept the Truth at this time. Going on now to other passages in Revelation that explain what the reward of a true Christian is in this transition from this world’s governmental system to the Kingdom of God! Revelation 2:26: “And he that overcometh, and keepeth My works unto the end, to him will I give power (authority, rulership) over the nations.” Revelation 3:21: “And he that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My Throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His Throne.”
Now just where if the Throne of Christ going to be when He returns to this planet earth? Luke 1:30-31: “And the angel said unto her, fear not Mary: for you have found favor with God. And behold, you shall conceive in your womb, and shall bring forth a Son, and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David.” Continuing in Revelation 5:9-10: “And they (angelic beings) sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us (them-Christians) to God by your blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and hast made us (them) unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the Earth.” It is so simple that a young child can understand it, but, you must rid your mind of preconceived false ideas that you may have been taught from your youth! Again, please believe what you read in your own Bible!! I can’t emphasize this enough!
Next, we’ll want to turn to Revelation 20:4-6, where we will see what a great blessing it is to be in the first resurrection—to be in the Kingdom of “God! Read this with me and see what the Apostle John had revealed to him by Jesus Christ: “And I saw thrones, and they (immortalized Christians) sat upon them, and judgment (the authority to judge) was given to them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the Word of God, which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.” (This is a parenthetical expression inserted between verse 4 and 6) Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.”
Look at this carefully! What do you read with your own eyes? These true Christians (some had been martyred for their beliefs), who had overcome self, overcome this evil world, who had even overcome the evil one, Satan the devil, through the power of the Holy Spirit, are now given rulership and priesthood in the Kingdom of God! Is this not the best news you could ever hear? Why hasn’t this world been taught this precious truth? This is the true Gospel! Please don’t turn your back on what I’m showing you from God’s Word. I know it sounds strange and different as it did to my ears, when I was first taught it, more than forty five years ago! Thank God I was willing to listen! Others have been willing to listen to this marvelous Good News as well. After they were taught it, they then preached this same Message of the Kingdom of God to others. Remember, we read in Galatians 1:11-12: “But I certify you, brethren that the Gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” So what Gospel did Paul preach after it was revealed to him by Christ? He plainly tells us in Acts 28:30-31: “And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, preaching the Kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.” He also wrote in Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ (which is the Gospel of the Kingdom of God): for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth (yes, you must believe the Gospel); to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
We read in I Corinthians 11:1: “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” And they both preached the same Gospel, the Gospel of the Kingdom of God! In the early New Testament true Church of God, this same Gospel of the Kingdom was preached. We find God’s faithful servants preaching what He told them to preach, the true Gospel. Matthew 10:7: “And as ye go, preach, saying, The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” We see this continued in the Book of Acts 8:12: “But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the Kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.” Only after the great false universal church rose in power, preaching “another gospel” that Paul warned about there in Galatians 1, did this false gospel gain momentum. But God has made certain that this “Good News”-the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, has been preserved in His true Church and that they will be preaching that same powerful message that I have been explaining to you in this article until the return of Jesus Christ!
Matthew 24:14: “And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” You have been given that witness! What will you do with what you have seen with your own eyes? Will you believe what God has revealed to you in this article, or will you “hide your head” in the sand of deception? The decision is yours, but I hope and pray, for your benefit, that you will not reject the best news you will ever hear: the Gospel of the Kingdom of God.
