This past week I was taken back by an article entitled: “Spring is a good time to create the world”, written by a retired News Sentinel staff writer. In it, she has ignorantly likened The Creator God to a man. I want to point out some of her glaring, mistaken statements that come close to blasphemy:
“May is the birth month of the year. I can see it now, in my mind’s eye. The Creator leans back in his rocker on the front porch Up There, humming to himself, looking out over the void.”
“He is tired. Tired of the messy chaos of winter, of waking up to gloomy forecasts.”
“That’s when he gets the idea. ‘What this world needs is jazzing up, a little color here, a little color there; sweet warm air; a spring in its step.” (Now I realize this person is writing this article as a “parody”; Webster’s describes this as: “a burlesque imitation of a serious composition.”)
Let me state emphatically, YOU DO NOT TRIVIALIZE THE WORD OF GOD! Isaiah 40:18 “To whom then will ye liken God? Or what likeness will ye compare unto him? 19 The workman melts a graven image, and the goldsmith spreads it over with gold, and casteth silver chains. 21 Have ye not known? Have ye not heard? Hath it not been told you from the beginning? Have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? 22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in. 25 To whom then will ye liken me? Or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that brings out their host by number: He calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.”
So this woman, in her ignorance, just doesn’t know anything about the truth of God.
Yes, the Great God did give a beginning month there in Exodus 12:2, but that is determined by the moon’s phases – it doesn’t always fall in May, but may vary between April and May. (These are named after the Pagan Roman calendar and do not follow God’s naming them “Abib” or “Nissan”, meaning “green ears”.
She also likens God to human beings who do get “tired” or “weary”. God does not get tired nor does he grow weary. Isaiah 40:28 “Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding.”
I’ve followed this person’s writings before and found she has very liberal ideas about the Scriptures, including ideas about woman’s rights to abortion and other carnal reasoning’s.
I know there will come a time when she and countless others will come to the true knowledge of what God and His Marvelous Plan is all about. Meanwhile, I intend to, “Cry aloud, and spare not, lift up your voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgressions, and the house of Jacob their sins.” Isaiah 58:1. We must not trivialize God. He is the Almighty, and there is NONE like Him.
