When Jesus Christ came the first time, to His own people, the Jewish people, they didn’t recognize Him as the Messiah; they called Him winebibber and a blasphemer. The religious leaders of that day had the Roman government kill him.
Today, modern Christianity preaches about a false Christ, therefore what they say about His return would also be false.
One of the greatest lies put on an already confused and deceived world is the return of Jesus Christ, he is pawned off as the antichrist, and the antichrist appears to be Jesus Christ.
For decades, God’s Church has prophesized of the end-time revival of the Holy Roman Empire; it is a union of Church and State -- one of economics and science, which will stamp out true Christianity, that will exalt a mortal man to the office of Jesus Christ. It will deceive the world into believing that the Christ of your Bible, who is coming to intervene in this world’s affairs, is the antichrist!
God cloaks this coming religious-political empire or system as Babylon the Great. “And I saw a woman (now in Biblical terms a woman is the symbol of a church) sit upon a scarlet colored beast (the symbol of a political government) full of names of blasphemy and upon her forehead was a name written Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of harlots, and the abominations of the earth” (Rev. 17:3, 5).
God labels her in (verse 1) what she really is: “the great whore that sits upon many waters (a symbol of peoples, and multitudes and nations and tongues (verse 15). In verse 2 the great whore is described as having committed spiritual fornication with the kings of the earth, that are alliances with the nations of this world, instead of waiting for the second coming of Jesus Christ to establish the Kingdom of God. “The woman which you saw is that great city, which reins over the kings of the earth” (v. 18).
This fallen woman (a symbol of a church) is ruling over many nations, a false church riding, dominating the beast, the Roman Empire that is rising up for the last time. This great counterfeit religion, instead of becoming engaged to the true Jesus Christ and keeping herself true to Him as coming World Ruler, formed illicit unions with the governments of this world.
She entered into world politics. She sought to dominate this world’s governments; she committed fornication, the illicit union prior to marriage.
God also portrays this church as having a “lamb-like appearance,” it appears as if it were God’s Church, but speaks as a “dragon, Satan the devil” (Rev. 13:11 and 12:9).
This fallen woman palms herself off as the government of God, but in reality, this fallen woman is only an image, or copy, of a satanic human government and not the government of God. This fallen woman (the Roman Catholic Church) used religion as the means of gaining political control over society, first through education, and by government and economics. For what purpose? To establish her rule over the world, read Rev. 17 again.
No military or political leader could unite Europe, only religion can do it! The Bible tells us that ten European nations will unite in this last restoration of the Roman Empire (Rev. 17:7) and leading these ten horns will be a great miracle-working religious leader.
Notice (vs. 12-13) “and the ten horns which are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast, they have one mind and shall give their power and strength (or authority) unto the beast.” When this religious leader, the man of sin gives the word, every devoted follower will obey his orders.
With his miracles, he will bring the squabbling nations of Europe together, and bring peace to the world. Paul warns us of the “man of sin” in II Thess. 2:1-12. Paul tells us that this mere human will exalt himself above all, even above God Himself!
“Let no man deceive you by any means; for that day (the return of Jesus Christ) shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. (Falling away means a defection from the truth or a rebellion against God’s government.) “Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming” (II Thess. 2:3-4,8).
The apostle Paul is telling us or warning us that just before the return of Jesus Christ, that a great miracle-working religious ruler will have the nerve to claim that he is God on earth! This man of sin will use these miracles as proof that he is God!
“Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders and with all unrighteous deception in them (or among) that perish (or perishing) because they receive not the love of the truth that they might be saved” (II Thess. 2:9-10). This prophecy deals with the head of a vast ecclesiastical empire through Satan’s power, he will perform false miracles and lying wonders to deliberately deceive the world into believing he is God on earth and that the returning of Jesus Christ is the antichrist.
He will even call “fire to come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men” (Rev. 13:13) and deceives them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles.”
Notice Job 1:16: “The fire of God is fallen from heaven and hath burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them.” This man said the fire was from God Himself, but it wasn’t, it was from the god of this world, Satan the Devil. Millions will be swept off their feet by these mighty signs. They will worship him as very god, because of these attention-getting satanic miracles.
In Rev. 19:20 God calls this man of sin a false prophet. Now notice the effects this false prophet will have on the Christian-professing world.
When Jesus Christ does return to punish the world for its sins and to stamp out war and bring peace at last, will the world accept Him as the Messiah? “They blasphemed and repent not” (Rev. 16:9) they ran from Christ: “and hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains; hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb” (Rev. 6:15-16). Why would they be doing this? Because the false prophet will have deceived them into believing this is the antichrist (that is Jesus Christ). Lies upon lies are being poured into these people’s ears, that the King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus Christ is the antichrist, that he is the devil incarnate.
And for this cause, “God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie” (II Thess. 2:11).
From a book published by the Catholic Church called Prophecy for Today; a clever deception was already being spread: “The antichrist (Jesus Christ) will fight a successful battle at Megiddo (Armageddon) in Palestine after which he will thereafter become lord of the world.”
But the Bible states that through satanic influence, the False Prophet and the Beast will muster the armies of the nations to fight the returning Jesus Christ (Rev. 16:13-14; 17:13-14).People will be convinced that Jesus Christ is the antichrist, the enemy of the world. The Bible reveals that Jesus will be victorious when He returns, not the antichrist.
“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron” (Rev. 19:11-16).
Now notice what this Catholic book says: “The kings will send armies to the Holy Land, but the antichrist will slay them all.” Rev. 19:19-21 shows this is exactly what the returning Jesus Christ (not the antichrist) will do.
“And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem: their flesh shall consume (or decay) away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their sockets, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth” (Zech. 14:12).
Now, again notice what these false prophecies say: “Antichrist and his army will conquer Rome, kill the Pope and take the throne; the Jews will come from everywhere and accept antichrist as their Messiah.” The Bible says that Jesus Christ will destroy the Beast and the False Prophet by casting them “into the lake of fire” (Rev. 19:20).
The Jews will then acknowledge for the first time, that the returning Christ is indeed their Messiah.
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness of his firstborn” (Zech. 12:9-10).
Now back to the false prophecies by the Roman Catholic Church: “After the destruction of Rome, antichrist will appear and exalt himself above pagan deities and the trinity, coming to Jerusalem. He will succeed through false preaching, miracles, gifts, and terror, aided throughout by the devil. An evil spirit will come out of the air and descend on his followers. He shall pretend a resurrection from the dead, cause rain to fall, perform other wonders, all through the power of the devil, The Jews will welcome him.”
Revelation 18 tells us it is Jesus Christ who will stamp out the pagan religious and false Christianity. He will descend to the Mt. of Olives which is before Jerusalem on the east. “His feet shall stand in that day upon the Mt. of Olives” (Zech. 14:4). This is the time that God will make His Holy Spirit available to all of mankind.
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh. At that time whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in Mt Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call” (Joel 2:28).
The dead in Christ will rise from their graves (I Cor. 15:50-55). The Catholic Church in their book Prophecy for Today has taken these plain scriptures to appear as though they were the work of antichrist, instead of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is labeled “an evil spirit that will come out of the air and descend on his followers.” This is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and the False Prophet knows better, that it is an unforgivable sin, hence the lake of fire for him.
This False Prophet claims: “And in the presence of all he (this is the real Jesus Christ who the Catholic Church labels as the antichrist) exhibits himself as taken up into heaven with trumpets and sounds, and the mighty shouting of those who hail him with indescribable hymns; the heir of darkness himself shining like light, and at one time soaring to the heavens, and at another descending to the earth with great glory and against charging demons, like angels, and he will bring hosts of the incorporeal without number.”
The Bible says: “Behold, he (Jesus Christ) comes with clouds; and every eye shall see him and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him” (Rev. 1:7).
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, and the dead in Christ shall rise first; and we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air” (I Thess. 4:16-17).
The real Jesus Christ will travel around the world with the speed of lightning gathering the resurrected saints into the clouds (Matt. 24:31). The antichrist, the man of sin labels these saints as demons, brilliant like angels.
Daniel was inspired to tell us that the resurrected saints “shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever” (Dan. 12:3). And as for the “indescribable hymns” (Rev. 14:3-4); “And they sung as it were a new song before the throne.”
The false prophecy continues: “Then that abominable one (meaning Jesus Christ) will send his commands throughout every government by the hand of demons and of visible men, who shall say: ‘A mighty king has arisen upon the earth; come ye all to worship him; come ye all to see the strength of his kingdom; for, behold, he will give you corn; and he will bestow upon you wine, and great riches, and lofty honours. For the whole earth and sea obeys his command. Come ye all to him.”
The Bible says “Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the springs of water” (Rev. 14:6-7). At the time of Jesus’ return these false prophecies will be read from the pulpits and people will believe them.
People truly don’t have any idea what the Bible really says! They will be absolutely convinced that the glorified Jesus Christ is the antichrist, and the man of sin is ‘Jesus in the flesh’. Satan knows the prophecies of God, and he trembles at God’s Word (James 2:19) and he knows that it will come to pass.
Satan hates God’s kingdom and His laws; No wonder he has influenced his followers to prophecy this satanic deception:
Antichrist (by this we mean Jesus Christ) will be an iconoclast (an idol breaker). Most of the world will adore him. He will teach that the Christian religion (today’s counterfeit Christianity) is false, confiscation of Christian property is legal, Saturday is to be observed instead of Sunday, and he will change the Ten Commandments that is to restore them to their original form, including the often-deleted 2nd commandment against idols. All his wonders could not be written in a book. They will be more wonderful than the Old and New Testament. He will read people’s minds, raise the dead, reward his followers and punish the rest.
The Bible says Jesus Christ is the One who destroy idols, it will be Jesus who will reveal how perverted this world’s pagan practices, labeled falsely Christianity, have become. It was Jesus Christ who spoke the Ten Commandments. He will restore them to their original form, and Jesus will raise the dead and reward his followers.
This is Satan’s age-old attempt to assume to himself the office of God, while he assigns the intervention of the true glorified God to the antichrist. As Jesus Christ told His disciples and that is you and me “Take heed that no man deceives you” (Matt. 24:4).
