Monthly Letter - February-March 2013

31 March 2013

Greetings Everyone,

Shortly after the Xmas holidays I was going through a local discount store and noticed that they were stocking their shelves with Easter paraphernalia. At the same time they were also preparing for Valentine’s Day. Did you know that over fifty percent, or more, of most businesses’ annual income is made during the holidays of this world? In fact, if most businesses stopped observing the holidays they would go bankrupt.

Revelation 12:9 popped into my mind. They, as I was, until God opened my mind to understanding (Luke 24:45), have been deceived by Satan the Devil into believing a false religion. Turn in your Bible and read Mark 7:5-9. Just as the Pharisees of Jesus’ day worshipped in vain by observing their traditions, so do those observing the traditions of this world worship in vain. Paul marveled that the Galatians had accepted another gospel (Gal. 1:6). Likewise, those observing the traditions of this world have accepted another gospel. They have embraced the gospel of “...the great whore that sitteth upon many waters…” (Rev. 17:1). They are observing the traditions promulgated by the Babylonian Mystery Religion which is an abomination to God Almighty (Rev. 17:5).

Yes, full well they have rejected the commandments of God to observe their own traditions. God says this worship is in vain. (If you would like to learn more about the traditions of men enroll today in our FREE Bible Study Course, Traditional Christian Doctrines). If these traditions are abominations to God, and they are (Amos 5:21), what days should we be observing? If you believe the Bible and sincerely desire to obey God’s every word (Mat. 4:4) turn to Leviticus 23. Now read carefully, and without any preconceived ideas or prejudices, exactly what verses one and two say. Does your Bible not say that God spoke to Moses and told him to speak to the children of Israel “concerning the feasts of the LORD…”? These are NOT Jewish feasts, they are God’s feasts and God expects us to observe them. But why?

Before I explain, let me ask you a few very simple questions. Do you believe God created man? Or, has your mind been blinded by the false doctrine of evolution? Do you know why God created man? Do you know why you were born? Most people do not know the answers to these basic questions. They find themselves born into a ready made world and simply accept the teachings of their parents and grandparents. Parents and grandparents who had accepted the teachings of their parents and grandparents. None of which knew the answers to these basic questions. Do you think God does not know what He is doing? Do you not think that the One who created the heavens and the earth has a Plan worked out for His finest creation—man? Do you not think He would make known His Plan to mankind? The Bible is God’s instruction manual to mankind, and in this Bible He reveals His Plan. And, that Plan is revealed in these “feasts of the LORD” (Lev. 23:2). God first reveals the weekly Sabbath which is a sign between God and His people. (Exodus 31:13-18). But notice verse 13 specifically. Does God not say, “Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep”? Yes, my Sabbaths, plural, meaning more than one. As you continue to read the entire chapter of Leviticus 23 you will see the seven annual Sabbaths God commands us to observe. And why? Because they outline His marvelous Plan of Salvation.

Beginning with the Passover, representing Christ’s sacrifice for us, and ending with the Last Great Day (Lev. 23:39, John 7:37), representing the time God offers salvation to all those not being called (John 6:44) today (Rev. 20:11-12), God outlines His entire Plan of Salvation for mankind. (If you would like to know more about this plan send for our FREE booklet, “God’s Master Plan of Salvation”).

Passover falls this year, 2013, on March 25th. As Paul was inspired to write in I Cor. 11:23, we are to observe the Passover the same night (Abib 14) in which He was betrayed. That means we will observe the Passover Sunday evening, after sunset, on the 24th of March. The night to be much observed (Ex. 12:42) is on the evening of March 25th and the first day of Unleavened Bread is March 26th. You should have put out all leavened products from your home before the 26th (Exodus 12:15-20) and eat unleavened bread for seven days. The first and last days are Sabbaths and should be observed as Holy Convocations (Lev. 23:6-8). The putting away of leavened bread and eating unleavened bread symbolizes putting sin out of our lives and putting on the “divine nature” of God (2 Peter 1:3-4; I Peter 1:13-23).

In my last letter I mentioned that I would like to hear from those of you who sincerely read these letters and benefit from them. I must say the response was not as good as I had hoped. Naturally, I would that all those who read these letters and receive our materials would have responded, but realistically I knew that would not be the case. And, I have to believe there are those who read the letters but did not respond. Nevertheless, I want to thank all of you who responded by phone, letter, email or face to face. I appreciated hearing from you and enjoyed every response.

As always, I close by thanking you all for your support, both via prayer and financially. More and more people are receiving the true gospel of Christ through our website and materials. Our prayer for you is that God will open your minds to more understanding of His wonderful truth and that you will have the will to obey. “For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Mat 22:14).

Sincerely,
George Trent
