Bible Q & A

Q. God said he will seek out his sheep himself in Ezek 34 :11-12 I’m not sure what that means - will He do that before the tribulation or is there another day that God will seek out his sheep? is God waking up those who know him and his truths?

A. You asked about the sheep mentioned in Ezekiel 34:11-12. The book of Ezekiel was written to modern day Israel (U.S., Britain, Australia, Canada, etc.). We read in the 5th chapter verses 1-2; that 1/3 will be scattered into all the winds (various parts of the earth). This will take place during the tribulation. Now, notice verse 12 (the last part) in Ezekiel 34. The cloudy and dark day refers to the Day of the Lord. (Ezekiel 30:3). Christ returns at the last trumpet – plague -- ( I Thess 4:16; I Cor. 15:52) at the end of the Day of the Lord.

So, the sheep he is referring to are the ones who go into tribulation and are scattered around the world in prison camps and in captivity. Christ will gather them at his return and begin His Kingdom on earth for 1,000 years.(Isaiah 11: 11-12).
