Monthly Letter - August-September 2011

30 September 2011
Greetings Everyone,
The rich young ruler anxiously approached Jesus Christ! He had a very important question to ask him. “And behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life” (Mat. 19:16). Continuing on, Christ advised the young man that keeping the commandments was necessary to obtain eternal life. Christ even iterated the last five of the commandments to the young man. He was elated! “The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?” (verses 17-20) I am sure the young man was not prepared for the answer he received from Jesus, “If you will be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. When the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful; for he had great possessions” (verses 21-22).
I hope you grasp what Christ was saying. Here was a young man that claimed to have kept the commandments from his youth, and yet, Christ said he was lacking something.
What was he lacking? I believe he was lacking the same thing many of us in God’s Church are lacking. Let me explain! Turn to Luke 17 and read verses 7-10. Many of us in God’s Church have come to believe that if we observe the 7th day Sabbath, partake of the Passover, observe all the annual Holy Days, refrain from eating unclean meats we are profitable servants. Now, go back and read verses 7-10 again. Did you catch that? Notice particularly verse 10. “So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, we are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.” Christ clearly states that there is much more to salvation than just keeping the commandments.
I recently delivered a sermon explaining what we are lacking. I do not have the space here to explain it. However, all those who are on our bi-monthly DVD list will receive the message. Any of you who would like a copy of the message can write, e-mail, phone in or click here and request the free sermon message, “God is Love.” We’ll send it out to you FREE of charge.
By the time you receive this letter the Fall Holy Day season will be upon us. At the time of this writing we have yet to observe the Feast of Trumpets (September 29th), the Day of Atonement (Oct. 8th), the Feast of Tabernacles (Oct. 13-19th), and the Last Great Day (Oct. 20th). Those of you in God’s Church understand that these Fall Holy Days explain the final part of God’s Plan of Salvation for mankind. For those of you who may not yet understand God’s Plan, you may write, e-mail, phone, or click here for a copy of “God’s Master Plan of Salvation.” We will send it out, again FREE of charge.
Many of you are new to the teachings of the Church of God New World Ministries. You may still believe you will go to heaven when you die, or the converse, to hell when you die. Your Bible does not teach this at all. In fact, your Bible actually teaches that Christ is coming back to this earth and will set up His Kingdom right here on earth.
Let me show you just a few scriptures to prove this point. Turn to Revelation, chapter 20. Read verse 4. Here we see a group of people that will one day rule with Christ for one thousand years. Where will they rule? Turn now to Revelation 5 and read verse 10 for the answer to this question. Can you deny what your Bible says, “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth”? Your Bible says we shall reign on this earth with Christ for l,000 years.
Would you believe that these scriptures relate directly to one of the Old Testament Holy Days God gave to the ancient nation of Israel? Yes, turn to Leviticus 23 and read verses 39-43. The ancient nation of Israel was commanded by God Almighty to observe the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days. Though they did not understand the spiritual meaning of these days they nonetheless observed them. And we are required to observe this Feast today. Are we not required to follow in Christ’s footsteps (I Peter 2:21)? Absolutely! Turn in your Bible to the seventh chapter of the book of John, read the following verses 10, 14, 37. Yes, Jesus Christ observed the Feast of Tabernacles and so should we.
The meaning of this great Feast will be explained the very first day of the Feast of Tabernacles. This year the Feast is being held at the Holiday Inn in Pigeon Forge, TN. For seven glorious days we will be observing a foretaste of the soon coming Kingdom of God on this earth. God’s ministers will bring encouraging, enlightening, and prophetic messages to those in attendance. Anyone who sincerely desires to serve Jesus Christ must observe this feast. It truly is a command from God. (Lev. 23:1-4).
If you would like more information regarding The Feast of Tabernacles you may visit the page at and view our Feast of Tabernacles 2011 brochure by clicking here. If you have further questions you may call (865) 774-8485. We look forward to seeing you there!
As always, I like to close my bi-monthly letter by giving thanks to all those who contribute to this Work via tithes, offerings, and the sacrifice of their lips (prayer). Much Work is being accomplished and many are learning the TRUTH of God from our materials. Thank you all!
George Trent
