Monthly Letter - April-May 2013

01 May 2013
Greetings Everyone,
Every two months I send a letter to those on our mailing list. You are all on our mailing list because you requested to be put there. Some were looking for “free” stuff (DVD’s, Correspondence Courses, literature, etc.) while others were looking for materials that supported their present “traditional Christian” beliefs. After receiving these materials some found that it was not what they were looking for or that it did not agree with their “traditional” beliefs and either threw the materials away or requested to be removed from our mailing list. That is understandable, for we understand that the true gospel of Christ is not for everyone. (Mat. 13:10-15).
But, a few of you will receive the materials and, like a light going off in your mind, will understand what you are reading or listening to. Verse 16 is referring to you. The truth of God is certainly not for everyone or God would not have inspired John to write Revelation 12:9. It was difficult for me to believe that the “whole world” had been deceived; but when I put aside all previously learned knowledge and started accepting what the Bible said, I realized I too had been deceived.
For instance, I was always taught that when I died I would go to either heaven or hell. The Bible does not say that at all. In fact, it says just the contrary. Read John 3:13. Christ himself said “no man has ascended up to heaven.” Now, do you believe what the Bible says or what you have always been told? The Bible DOES speak of the wicked being burned up; but it does NOT say they will burn forever and ever. Read Malachi 4:3. The Bible says the wicked will be burned up and become ashes just like paper or wood or any other substance burned by fire becomes ashes.
For the first twenty-eight years of my life I observed all of the “traditional” Christian holidays. After all, my parents had observed them and their parents before them had observed them so they must be the holidays Christ told us to observe. I reasoned, what is wrong with observing Christ’s birthday, or his resurrection on Sunday morning? Never mind the fact that I could not find one single scripture commanding, or even suggesting, we observe these “traditional” holidays, no not one.
I never stopped to question why Exodus 20:8-11 said “Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy Godů” but I was going to Church on Sunday. All I had to do was look at a calendar and see that the seventh day of the week is Saturday not Sunday. I asked, how can that be? Surely, the theologians who have graduated from colleges and universities or seminaries cannot be wrong! I had to prove for myself which was correct. I began studying the Bible and looking up scriptures from the materials I was receiving from the Worldwide Church of God. On one hand “traditional” Christianity taught one thing but I found the Bible said something exactly opposite from what I had been taught. So, which was I to believe, the churches of this world or the Bible? It was a no brainer. We read in John 1:1-14 that Christ is the Word. Christ brought the truth. (John 17:17). Christ said “the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63). Christ came preaching the gospel of the Kingdom (Mark 1:14-15). That gospel Christ and the apostles taught is a message of Christ’s soon coming to this earth and setting up a kingdom right here on earth and reigning for one thousand years. (Rev. 20:4; Rev. 5:10). The Church of God New World Ministries teaches the same gospel taught by Christ and the original apostles. Read Gal. 1:6-12; 2 Cor. 11:1-4,13-15. My friends, the gospel taught by “traditional Christianity” is a false gospel.
If you would like to learn more about the true gospel of Christ, enroll today in our “Mini-Correspondence Course”. Our series on “Traditional Christian Doctrines” goes through twenty four of the present day doctrines taught by “traditional Christianity” and proves to you, right from the Bible, the truth about them. Every three weeks we send out a DVD with vital messages from the ministry of God’s Church referencing the gospel Christ taught. You may receive any or all our materials by writing to: Church of God New World Ministries, PO Box 5536, Sevierville, TN 37864 or calling 865:774-8485. All our materials are FREE!
Instead of the holidays of this world the Church of God New World Ministries observes the seventh day Sabbath and the seven annual holy days God commanded in Leviticus 23. If you would like to know why, send for our FREE booklet, “God’s Master Plan of Salvation.”
